2-3 Year Old Preschool Class

Developing self-help and social skills is a major focus for the young preschooler.  We model and nurture appropriate behavior, manners, turn-taking, and responsibility so your little one gains confidence and independence.  However, the most important facet of the preschool experience is a safe and inviting atmosphere for play, exploration and self-expression.  Children learn through play, and we encourage this as the primary vehicle for gaining physical, social, emotional, spiritual and mental development.

The "A Beka" curriculum enhances the learning experience by providing work-sheets, activities, art and stories that children enjoy each day.  It also prepares them for the advanced Pre-K program at First Baptist Preschool.

3-4 Year Old Preschool Class

This class builds upon skills acquired in the 2 and younger 3-year-old class with teacher-lead, age-appropriate curriculum. In addition, children are exposed to the more advanced Pre-Kindergarten activities.  The older three and young four-year-olds have mastered their basic self-help skills and are now ready to practice independent learning by choosing work/play stations that include art, computers, ipads, writing, puzzles and shape/size/color sorting.  They participate in large-group activities where children sing, dance, memory poems, and fingerplays.  They play games that use number, letters and sounds.  Pre-reading activities are introduced through sight words, the children’s names and beginning reading books.

4-5 Year Old Pre-Kindergarten Class

Our outstanding Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten while reinforcing the values and self-help skills acquired in preschool.  The "Purposeful Design" educational curriculum not only helps children master basic skills such as identifying numbers, colors, letters, shapes, it helps children develop their reading and writing skills. Your 4 and 5-year-old will enjoy art, science, cooking, music and movement, poetry, story time, outdoor time and many other activities throughout the day to enhance their learning experience.  Our preschool graduates are well-prepared to enter Kindergarten with confidence.
